International Owls Liam Palmer and Atdhe Nuhiu experienced mixed emotions on Thursday evening.
Palmer and Nuhiu played full games for Scotland and Kosovo respectively and while the former were defeated, the latter emerged triumphant.
The Scots took on Russia in Moscow in their latest Euro 2020 qualifier but were beaten 4-0 – a result that ended Steve Clarke’s side’s hopes of reaching the finals.
Kosovo, meanwhile, hosted Gibraltar in Prishtina in a friendly encounter they won 1-0 ahead of Monday’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro.
Both Palmer and Nuhiu will return from international duty in time for the Owls’ televised trip to Cardiff next Friday.
