Owls supporting Mind matchday

25 October 2019

Mental health charity Mind will take over tomorrow's Yorkshire derby between the Owls and Leeds.

The organisation are the EFL’s official charity partner for the second season in a row, aiming to raise awareness and provide support for people suffering with mental health issues.

At tomorrow's game, Mind are holding a bucket collection around Hillsborough giving supporters the chance to donate to the cause, with all funds massively appreciated.

The players will also be wearing Mind t-shirts as they warm up for the game, taking full advantage of the Sky Sports cameras to spread the word.

Before the Owls' home game against Wigan earlier this month, Mind were presented with a cheque for £3,830, which was raised by social housing provider Wates and the Owls’ Community Programme.

The two organisations played against each other at Hillsborough in May to raise funds for Mind, Wates coming out 4-3 winners, but the charity was the overall winner thanks to the fantastic total raised.

Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher joined the cheque presentation to show support for the cause.

Keep a look out for bucket collectors at tomorrow's game, your donations will go a long way in supporting someone in need.
