Steven Fletcher is likely to be involved on Saturday as the Owls host Wigan.
The in-form striker missed out at Hull on Tuesday with a swollen ankle but the news on a potential return this weekend is looking positive.
With another training session to come on Friday, manager Garry Monk says the Owls camp are hopeful on a quickfire return for the number nine.
“We are very hopeful,” Monk said.
“We are 99% sure he will be available for the weekend.
“We’ve still got another training session tomorrow and we’ll see if there’s any reaction to today but if not, then he should be available for the game.
“When you have a player, especially in that position, in the form he’s in, with the goals he’s been scoring and the performances he’s produced, of course he will be a miss.
“You need your in-form strikers available but these things will happen over the course of a season, players will be injured, suspended or missed in some way or another and you have to try and cope with that.”
