Loving life in England

26 September 2019

Having fast become something of a cult figure here at Hillsborough, Julian Borner has revealed how he s enjoying a new lease of life in England.

The German centre half was snapped up by Wednesday on a free transfer over the summer and has been an ever present at the heart of the rearguard so far this season, endearing himself to Wednesdayites along the way with his no-nonsense style.

Facing the media at Middlewood Road ahead of the Owls’ trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday, Borner said:

“I am loving it here, it is a new challenge and I am enjoying every moment. I had no hesitation in signing for Wednesday when I knew of their interest and I am very pleased with this decision.

“I am playing regularly in a squad of very high quality. I think we will get better and better so life is good for me at the moment.

“The fans are very good to me so I am pleased they like my game so far.

“The game here is different to Germany but this is one of the reasons why I came to England, to play and live in a different culture.”
