New beginnings

12 September 2019

It’s new beginnings all round on Sunday as Wednesday resume their Championship campaign with a trip to Huddersfield.

For the Owls, it will be the first game in the dugout for new boss Garry Monk.

The former Wednesday loanee was appointed last week ahead of the first international break of the season.

During a busy day last Friday, Monk faced several rounds of media as the local and national journalists gathered at Hillsborough.

And tomorrow (Friday 13), the Wednesday manager will be back in front of the cameras for his first pre-match press conference.

Supporters can follow the updates live from Middlewood Road via the official SWFC Facebook page which will stream the entire press conference. The club’s Twitter account @swfc will also post the key updates.

Meanwhile, the Terriers also have new faces on the sidelines after bringing in Danny and Nicky Cowley from Lincoln City.

The duo were appointed on Monday and manager Danny Cowley said:

“You look at Huddersfield Town and the history of the football club, you look at the current status in the Championship, I expect it’s been a really difficult period, but that actually excites me because we like a challenge.

“We always felt that the next move would have to be the perfect opportunity and we see this as the perfect opportunity.”

Visit swfc.co.uk on Friday for more build-up to game, including the thoughts of Monk from his pre-match media after a full week on the training ground with his Owls side.
