The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme’s traineeship programme launches this month, welcoming 19-24s not currently in employment, education or training.
The launch event will take place with a coffee morning at Hillsborough on Tuesday 17 September, with the programme starting on Monday 23 September.
Individuals will undergo employability workshops supported with work placements at the likes of Sheffield Wednesday FC, John Lewis, McDonalds, Places for People and Sheffield International Venues.
Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to progress within English and maths, whilst undertaking Level 1 qualifications in Health & Safety, Customer Service and Nutrition & Health.
Running every 13 weeks, in partnership with Job Centre Sheffield, the programme gives people an opportunity to enhance their chances at getting back into employment, education or further training.
Over the last year, 60% of individuals secured employment by the end of the traineeship programme.
The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme are also looking for local businesses to get involved in their traineeship initiative, providing work placements.
