U18s report: Hull 2-1 Owls

30 September 2019

The Owls Under-18s suffered a disappointing morning on Saturday as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat away at Hull.

Despite dominating possession throughout, the Wednesday youngsters couldn’t make their chances count and were made to pay by the Tigers.

The deadlock was broken after 24 minutes when the hosts won possession to counter down the right and Will Jarvis applied a cool finish from the cross.

Charles Hagan’s ball into the box was held up by Alex Bonnington, who found Glover 20 yards from goal and the midfielder’s first time effort arrowed into the bottom corner.

The visitors looked the more likely of the sides to score again before the interval but fell a goal behind in the 44th minute.

The Owls host Sheffield United on Saturday at Middlewood Road, 11.00am kick off.

Owls: Jackson, Farmer, Oliver, Kenyon, Thompson, Ellery (Cox 89), Hagan, Glover, Bonnington, Brandy (Zottos 86), Vasalo
