'Club Wednesday' partners serving the community

10 April 2020

As the Owls’ COVID-19 charity campaign passes the £25,000 mark, we are proud to share more inspiring initiatives from within the SWFC family.

Our ‘Club Wednesday’ partners in particular are excelling through these unprecedented times. Parking their own commercial challenges, the message loud and clear is that community counts:

WANdisco
WANdisco’s efforts are focused on helping the prevention of COVID-19, pledging vital data software to aid the worldwide search for a vaccine.

The groundbreaking project was highlighted HERE in the Yorkshire Post this week.

City Taxis
City Taxis have launched City Grab, a new app that delivers local goods from local businesses to local people. Last weekend, all costs were donated to local NHS frontline staff, raising a fantastic £5,000.

The service is in place over Easter, from 6.00pm Good Friday to 6.00am Bank Holiday Monday and can be found HERE.

City Taxis continue to assist the NHS with essential patient transport services throughout the region.

Prostate Cancer UK
On top of their outstanding day to day dedication to the charity sector, Prostate Cancer UK are maintaining their specialist nurse communication lines around the clock to support patients and their families living with a prostate cancer diagnosis.

Prostate Cancer UK will remain at the forefront of awareness during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Access Credit Management
ACM have pledged a significant number of face masks to their local NHS hospital at this most critical time.

They have also made a substantial donation to Thornberry Animal Sanctuary to aid rapidly climbing costs given the impact of COVID-19.

Guy Salmon Land Rover Sheffield
Your local Land Rover dealership have provided much-needed vehicles to the NHS to assist with COVID-19 support, be that transportation of NHS staff or aiding general supply delivery.

Guy Salmon are also opening their depots to key workers by prior appointment for emergency repairs across the Yorkshire region.

Global Brands
Global Brands operate two hotels, one of which, the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, turned the buildings blue this week in support of the NHS.

Offering accommodation for NHS staff and other key workers, they are also supplying free soft drinks and freshly cooked meals to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Thornbridge Brewery
Thornbridge have delivered over 400 items to the S6 foodbank during their ‘Spread a Little Sunshine’ campaign where customers were asked to trade a can of their Californian Sun for an essential food item.

They also set up a discount code for all NHS employees and within the first few hours received hundreds of requests. A well-earned drink for all, we’re sure you’ll agree!

Decx
The team at Decx have been supporting the East Midlands Ambulance Service, who house their fleet services depot right next door.

Decx are also offering free warehouse storage for vital lifesaving equipment and parking facilities for additional fleet vehicles in these troubled times.

Ansys
Ansys are focused on promoting safe practices amid the pandemic whilst helping us all maximise new working from home environments.

In addition, they are actively demonstrating the importance of social distancing with video links HERE.

Cafeology
Our local coffee partners are continuing production at their local roastery to supply Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Cafeology are also offering a special delivery service to key workers in the community.

Some fantastic initiatives here across the board and we would like to thank all our Club Wednesday partners for their sterling efforts and continued support.

If any of these acts of generosity have inspired you, please support the Owls’ COVID-19 campaign HERE.

Thank you as always - please stay at home, save lives and protect the NHS.
