Owls duo Morgan Fox and Steven Fletcher have stepped up in their role as patrons for Weston Park Cancer Charity by taking part in a new fundraising initiative.
‘The 2.6 Challenge’ launched last Sunday, 26 April - the scheduled date for the London Marathon, which raised over £66m for charities last year.
This time round, the marathon was postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis but that hasn’t deterred Weston Park!
Fundraisers dreamed up The 2.6 Challenge based around the date of the marathon and are now asking supporters to take part and spread the word.
Fox and Fletcher led the way representing Wednesday, displaying tennis and golf ball juggling skills as we can see here!
Thank you Steven Fletcher who took part in the #TwoPointSixChallenge this weekend by doing 26 keepy ups 👏

I am taking part in the 2.6 challenge in support of @WPCancerCharity. This is a particularly challenging time for anyone living with and beyond cancer. Give my challenge a go and donate if you can. 💜https://t.co/I6twUdDspy#TwoPointSixChallenge #TogetherAtEveryStep pic.twitter.com/Qwe4vH8DVT

Weston Park Cancer Charity director of fundraising and marketing Catherine Rhone said:
“The 2.6 Challenge can be anything that works for you. You can run or walk 2.6 miles, 2.6km or for 26 minutes.
“You could do the same in your home or garden, go up and down the stairs 26 times, juggle for 2.6 minutes, do a 26 minute exercise class or get 26 people on a video call and do a 26 minute workout – anything you like.
“Whatever your motivation, keep it up – your gift could help someone in financial crisis, it might help someone feel less alone or it could help frontline NHS staff during the crisis.”
