Coaching staff restructure

14 August 2020

Sheffield Wednesday can give further detail regarding the restructuring of the coaching team at Hillsborough.

Further to the announcement of the arrivals of trio James Beattie, Darryl Flahavan and Andrew Hughes, the Owls can confirm that Neil Thompson will remain a part of the first team coaching set-up.

As part of the backroom reshuffle, Lee Bullen will take up the position of Under-23 coach.

The former Wednesday captain will play a key role in the development of the Owls youngsters and brings plenty of experience to the position having worked previously in the SWFC Under-23 set-up.

Likewise, ex-Owls goalkeeper Nicky Weaver will switch roles and become Head of Academy Goalkeeping.

Weaver returned to Hillsborough in September 2014 to take up the position as goalkeeper coach at the academy and has first-hand experience working at various levels in the club’s youth system.
