Young midfielder Manuel Hidalgo has left Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent.
The Argentine joined the Owls in January and was part of the club’s Under-23 side but has opted to step away from football to return home to his family.
Following the mutual termination of his contract at S6, Hidalgo posted on his Instagram feed: “I wish this club the best in the world for its understanding.
“In addition to the players and the people, whom I can only thank for the support.”
The Owls would like to thank Manuel for his service and wish him the very best of luck for the future.
