Young full back Ryan Galvin has signed a professional contract with the Owls following a successful trial period with Wednesday’s Under-23s.
The 18-year-old featured for the Owls Development Squad against Hull on Friday and now signs permanently with the club.
Predominantly a left sided full-back, Galvin was previously on professional terms with Wigan before his switch to S6.
Galvin said: “I’m over the moon if I’m honest.
“I’m just so glad I’ve been given the opportunity to come here.
“When I found out I was given the contract after my trial I couldn’t stop smiling!
“I want to do well for the Under-23s and see what opportunities come from there.
“Hopefully one day I’ll be with the first team, but it’s one step at a time.”
