Match preview: Bristol City v Owls

The Owls are back on the road in the Championship for the first time since the restart and head to Bristol City for the Sunday lunchtime kick-off.

Garry Monk was pleased by last weekend’s positive performance by his side in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.

A point was the very least Wednesday deserved on Saturday as Connor Wickham’s first goal during his current loan stint salvaged the draw in stoppage time.

For the Robins, the restart brought about a 3-1 defeat away at Blackburn.

RULE CHANGE REMINDER

Substitutions

The number of substitutes used during a match which will increase from three to five players, with the matchday squad increasing to 20.

• Each team will have a maximum of three opportunities to make substitutions

• If both teams make a substitution at the same time, this will count as one of the three opportunities for each team.

• In a normal 90 minute fixture, once all three opportunities have been used, no further substitutions can be made.

Walkout protocol

• Players and match official entry will be staggered onto the pitch.

• There will be no handshakes. Players to take up on pitch positions in the same half as they warmed up ready for kick off.

OWLS MEGASTORE

Back at base, the Owls are reminding supporters that the Ticket Office, Megastore and Meadowhall store remain closed until further notice.

TEAM NEWS

SWFC: Sheffield Wednesday are in good shape ahead of the trip to Ashton Gate.

Josh Windass is the only injury concern but Monk issued a positive update on the loanee in terms of his rehabilitation on Friday, with the midfielder expected to make a speedy return to action.

Elsewhere, Steven Fletcher, Morgan Fox and Fernando Forestieri remain eligible to feature before the expiration of their contracts.

Though Fletcher has not trained this week after picking up an injury on Saturday and is therefore unlikely to figure.

Bristol City: Defender Pedro Pereira (thigh) has been ruled out for four weeks.
