Artist and SWFC supporter Chris Lee has created a unique map celebrating the European footballers and managers who have represented the Owls during our long history.
The map shows all the Europeans who have played for or managed Wednesday since Ante Miročević signed back in 1980.

Chris said: "It's been nearly 40 years since then and we have had some fantastic footballers from the continent. I make it 68 European players and managers over this time period.”
The map shows players who were either born in Europe or who have represented a European country at international level. It also includes a selection of British and Irish players and managers, but of course there are far too many of these to include them all.
Chris continued: "In many ways the artwork is a tribute to my dad (fanzine writer W M Lee) who passed away in 2018. He gave me and my brother our love of SWFC, taking us to literally hundreds of games. I really appreciate that he gave us the opportunity to watch such great footballers at Hillsborough, both for the Owls and the opposition.”
The map also includes information from the Owls’ UEFA Cup and InterToto Cup adventures in the 1990s, a time when the squad was littered with star-studded international players from Europe and beyond.
"I've really enjoyed creating the map,” Chris concluded. “Looking back at all these players brings back a host of memories from different Sheffield Wednesday teams over the years. We are lucky to have had a wealth of talent from Europe who have contributed to some great times in our recent history.”
The map will be available in the Owls Megastore when football returns to S6.
