The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme are excited to launch two new pathways for Level 3 learners from September 2020.
The new BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Sport suites have been developed in collaboration with professional bodies, employers and Higher Education to meet industry and university standards for progression.
These new pathways are now linked closer to direct employment than ever before with applications to join chartered institutes a direct outcome of the programme. Both pathways attract UCAS points and are therefore direct routes to Higher Education.
The Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development pathway allows for learners to enter the employment as a multi-skills coach by applying for CIMSPA membership at the end of the programme.
Alternatively, the Extended Diploma in Sporting Excellence and Performance pathway allows for learners to experience a study programme aimed at progression into elite performance or working with elite performers.
SWFC Education Manager Ed Kinsey said: “With the quality of staff at the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme, it makes these two new pathways an exciting opportunity for new students.
“Our highly trained, industry qualified staff, will provide unique and robust, delivery and assessment of the programmes.”
The courses are partnered with The Sheffield College, and are aimed at learners looking for a career in sport or wanting to progress into Higher Education.
