Tony Pulis emphasis that he will always put the team first following the 0-0 draw with Stoke on Saturday.

Pulis made changes during the game, including the substitution of Jordan Rhodes with the striker already having come on from the bench.

He explained: “It’s something I have done before and it’s something I will do again, I’m sure. I will always put the team first, that’s what it all about for me, the team.

“I had something in my mind for the last five minutes of the game. I will sit down with Jordan and have a chat on Monday.”

Pulis praised the endeavour of his players as they shut out one of the highest scoring teams in the division.

At the other end of the field, the new Wednesday manager says there is work to be done.

He added: “I thought going forward today the one big plus was Kadeem Harris, he caused them problems and almost got on the scoresheet.

“Credit to him because he’s missed the last three games but today I thought we was our most likely outlet.

“We were strong and resolute at the back, we’ve kept a very good side quiet and as a manager you can’t ask for much more than that.”
