Embracing the work

27 November 2020

Tony Pulis has heaped praise on the players for the work they have done up to this point since the experienced boss took charge at Hillsborough.

His first point arrived in midweek after an encouraging performance away at Swansea and next up is the visit of Pulis’ former club Stoke to Hillsborough.

Ahead of the manager’s first game in S6, Pulis said:

“The lads have been brilliant, they have worked really hard, they have tried to embrace what we are trying to do

“I think everybody can see we need to strengthen certain areas, without a question of a doubt. But the players have been fantastic with their attitude and commitment to the work.

“The performance at Swansea, particularly first half, was very, very good.

“Now we’ve got to get through a period of very tough games - starting tomorrow with Stoke and get as many points as we can until we get important players back in the team.”

In terms of team news, Keiren Westwood will miss out through injury, while Kadeem Harris is available for selection.

Pulis added: “Keiren has had a scan and he’s got a grade two tear which will be a couple of weeks.

“Harris is available obviously, his three-game suspension has finished so he comes into contention for tomorrow.”
