Owls suffer Flint blow

4 November 2020

The Owls have been dealt an injury blow with news that Aden Flint will require surgery following a hamstring injury sustained against Rotherham at the back end of last month.

The towering defender joined the Owls on loan from Cardiff in mid-October and had an immediate impact at the heart of the rearguard.

But Flint now faces a spell on the sidelines, which was confirmed by Garry Monk after Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

He said: “It’s frustrating for everyone as it was so innocuous at the time. But the scan has shown Aden will need an operation.

“So he will be out for longer than we expected, we are looking at a few weeks minimum.

“I feel for him because he came here to play some football and I was really impressed with his performances and attitude.

“We all wish him well and hope for a speedy recovery.”
