Pulis explains Gardner and Trusson additions

23 November 2020

Tony Pulis added Craig Gardner and Mike Trusson to his coaching staff last week.

Discussing the appointments, the Wednesday boss was delighted to have the pair on board for this next chapter at Hillsborough.

Gardner – a former player of Pulis’s at West Brom – joined early in the week, while Trusson was announced the day before our trip to Preston.

“I know Gards well,” Pulis said. “I’ve worked with Gards at West Brom, he’s infectious, he’s a good lad and a good coach.

“He’s had two years of good experience with Birmingham at this level and I always like to bring in a young coach with me wherever I’ve been, I’ve always felt that was worth it.

“I have known Mike for years, Mike has worked with me since I was at Bournemouth in all different areas.

“He brings a lot of experience, not just in football but also his recruitment as well.

“Most recently with Celtic but he’s been involved in other clubs as well so he’s an experienced lad, I respect him, I trust him and he will help with the recruitment in the years to come.”
