Lee Bullen said the Owls Under-23s got their ‘just desserts’ following our 1-0 victory over Cardiff at Bracken Moor.
A second half strike from trialist Calum Huxley sealed the win for Wednesday to claim our first three points of the campaign.
Bullen said: “I think we’ve played better this season and lost.
“Today it was about resilience, they were asked questions and they had to handle it.
“I’m delighted for the clean sheet and for the first three points because they’ve deserved more from the four games so far.
“We played better at Birmingham last week and got nothing but today we battled through it and got our just desserts.
“Josh Render made two crucial saves in the first half, so we could have been 2-0 down early on.
“We probably did shade the game overall, but you don’t always get what you deserve, but today we did and I’m delighted for the players.”
