The Owls continue our promising start to the new campaign with a third round Carabao Cup clash against Fulham on Wednesday night (7.00pm) and Garry Monk is out to extend the current feelgood factor.
His side are unbeaten in four league and cup games so far without having conceded a goal – a record that will certainly be put to the test at Craven Cottage.
Monk said: “We will be going down there trying to give a good account of ourselves. The standard we have set ourselves is really high and we want to win games. You can see the lads are desperate to win games.
“The whole squad is competing and performing and that’s the way you want it. If we were in a normal situation we would still be in pre-season so of course there’s an opportunity for everyone but the main aim is to go there and try to win the game.
“Whoever is selected for this game will be doing exactly the same as we have done so far all the way through. The attitude, the spirit, everything is really strong and we need to keep building. We know what we need to improve on and that will come.”
