The Owls welcome Cardiff to Hillsborough on Easter Monday, hot on the heels of Good Friday disappointment at Watford.
Wednesday turned in a promising performance at the second-placed Hornets, going down only to an own goal that split the sides in Hertfordshire.
Overall, tangible signs of progress under the new management team have been evident of late and Jamie Smith says platforms are in place for the Bluebirds clash and beyond:
The assistant manager told swfc.co.uk: “We played some good football at Watford and on the balance of play could have taken something from the game.
“Obviously we weren’t happy with the manner of the goal but it’s gone now and we look forward to Cardiff.
“We will go into the game with confidence and we will play to win. We can see the improvements and the progress we have made in recent weeks.
“We will take those positives into the Cardiff game and the remaining games we have left.”
