Jamie Smith provided an update on Tom Lees after the defender left the field injured during Wednesday’s clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Lees landed awkwardly on his ankle and stayed down before being stretchered off the pitch in the 41st minute at the Riverside.
Smith said: “Tom went to the hospital straight away and he’s had an X-ray.
“I don’t think there’s a break or a fracture which is good news.
“In terms of the extent of the damage, we can’t be too sure at this point, so we'll wait and see.”
