18s head to Queen Ethelburga’s

9 August 2021

The Owls Under-18s head to Queen Ethelburga’s in North Yorkshire today for their final instalment of pre-season.

The training camp will run from today until Thursday and the week will climax on Friday with the 18s’ first league fixture of the season against Ipswich.

Kick-off against the Tractor Boys at the college will be at 11.00am.

Wednesday’s final pre-season fixture finished 2-2 against Notts County last Friday at Thorncliffe.

Leojo Davidson continued his red-hot form, scoring his fifth goal in as many pre-season games and striker Bailey Cadamarteri was also on target for the Owls.

The visitors took the lead after 13 minutes but Wednesday swiftly responded as Danai Sterling-Rhule managed to find Davidson in the box, who sent a looping effort into the top corner.

Cadamarteri put the Owls in front with nine minutes left on the clock after arriving in the box unmarked to head home from Kamil Maciag’s corner.

But the spoils were shared as the Magpies levelled in the 84th minute from the penalty spot.

Owls: Hall, Phuthi (Maciag 46), Maltby (Fusire 46), Flannery, Sesay, Kilheeney, Shipston, Asfha (Yogane 68), Davidson (Phuthi 75), Sterling-Rhule (Chapman 46), Cadamarteri
