Darren Moore has welcomed the quickfire turnaround in games as the Owls prepare for the visit of Newcastle’s Under-21s in the group stages of the Papa John’s Trophy.
The Hillsborough contest gets underway at 7.00pm on Tuesday and comes on the back of our first concession and defeat of the season at Morecambe.
Moore says the S6 camp will swiftly regroup following the 1-0 reverse and relish the opportunity to get back on the pitch at Hillsborough.
He said: “We will get games like that over the season where we dominate and the challenge for us it to turn that dominance into goals and wins.
“If I look back at any game and see that we did not create chances or get into the right areas, then yes, that would be a cause for concern.
“But on Saturday we did do those things and the disappointment is that we didn’t make the possession and chances count.
“We have the game against Newcastle on Tuesday and it’s one we’re looking forward to. We will take our medicine from Saturday and the best tonic is to get back out there and play.
“We will be taking this game seriously. We are representing Sheffield Wednesday and we want to win every game we play. We want to go as far as we can in the competition.
“We will see the shape of the boys on Monday morning and get to work for the game on Tuesday.”
