Moore urges Owls to maintain their levels

14 December 2021

The Owls’ 2-0 win over Crewe on Saturday saw our unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One extend to 12 games.

Wednesday have hit form at a crucial time in the season with consistent performances and results helping Darren Moore’s side keep well in touch at the right end of the table.

Only goal difference is keeping Wednesday outside of the top six heading into the next round of games.

The resilient nature of the squad has pleased the gaffer but Moore says inside the camp, no one is overly focusing on the unbeaten stretch but rather taking each game as it comes and building consistency across the board.

On a dozen league games without defeat, he said: “It’s nice and I’ve spoken about it recently to the media.

“I always say we take each game as it comes, it was an important three points on Saturday and for us it’s just about keeping it going and we move on to the next one.

“We’ll let the media and everybody else do the hype, create the noise and what we’ll do is keep the concentration going.

“The most important thing is to keep performances going, keep that consistency going and keep the team hungry.

“That’s what we saw on Saturday, a real powerful performance and I’m really, really pleased with them.”

Wednesday host Accrington Stanley on Saturday (3.00pm) just four weeks after the sides last met at the Wham Stadium when the Owls claimed a 3-2 win on the road.
