Owls back Safer Internet Day

9 February 2021

The Owls and our academy are proud to be supporting Safer Internet Day to help connect with players, parents and carers on online safety.

Now more than ever, with so many young people spending large amounts of time online at home for learning and recreation, it is imperative to highlight the benefits and risks of the internet, as well as promoting how to stay safe and happy online.

The global theme is ‘together for a better internet’ and this year we are putting the focus on how young people can tell fact from fiction online and work together to create an internet we trust.

We have used our bespoke academy application to inform schoolboy Under-9 to Under-16s parents and carers of how we are promoting Safer Internet Day, including information and tips.

Our Under-18s are discussing Safer internet Day and the theme of reliability in their Education classes this week.

The academy have stayed connected with our schoolboy players through weekly tasks and online video sessions covering a variety of fun, football, education and life skills workshops.

We are proud of our players’ engagement through online workshops, staying connected and supporting each other through the challenges of the current situation worldwide.
