The Owls Under-23s recorded back-to-back victories on Friday after picking up a 3-2 win on the road against Barnsley.
Goals from Liam Waldock, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ben Hughes saw us come away with maximum points from a topsy-turvy derby clash.
Wednesday went in at half time a goal to the good after Waldock applied a smart finish from Izzy Brown’s feed.
As planned, Brown played the first 45 minutes and was replaced by Dele-Bashiru for the second half, which started poorly from an Owls perspective.
Direct from the restart, the Reds worked the ball forward and were awarded a penalty which was duly converted and then went ahead on the hour mark.
The Owls had it all to do to haul themselves back into the game but with 12 minutes left on the clock, the leveller arrived courtesy of a breath-taking strike from Dele-Bashiru.

After playing a give and go with Alex Hunt, Dele-Bashiru steadied himself before firing into the top corner from range via a slight deflection.
The comeback was complete five minutes from time when Hughes prodded home Hunt’s low cross after some superb football in the build-up.
Wednesday travel to Coventry on Tuesday (23 February, 1.00pm).
