We caught up with Massimo Luongo as pre-season preparations continue at our training camp in Wales.
On the end of season break…
The off-season went quite quick. I try to keep as fit as possible in the off-season, I want to forget about last season and work hard and focus on what we need to do.
On starting pre-season…
It’s good to get a few sessions out of the way and start afresh, build a good squad and a good morale around the training ground.
It's good to be back and working hard, the weather has been good. We have been doing double sessions, a lot of running but it was manageable and doable.
The fact we’ve been able to get away to Wales is good. There are two sessions a day, so not much time to relax.
I feel good, I feel strong, I feel fit. I just need to manage it and not expect too much too early. I’ll get some training sessions under my belt and build from there.
The aim is to stay fit, last year was so frustrating but now my focus is to get fit and stay strong and get my legs as strong as possible to give myself the best platform.
I can’t wait for the first game. Everyone is on a level playing field and we all want to start, so we all need to prove that we are ready.
