The Wise Old Owls have raised £1,700 for the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme in memory of a beloved member of their group.
Jean Preen, wife of WOO chairman John, sadly passed away in February after many years of dedication to the long-standing supporters club.
In Jean’s memory, the Wise Old Owls created a fundraising page with all proceeds benefitting Wednesday’s charitable arm.
Supporters generously backed the campaign and raised £1,700, all of which will aid the SWFCCP’s work in the local community.
Marcus Brameld, Community Manager at SWFCCP, said: “We want to say a massive thank you to the Wise Old Owls and everybody who donated for their support.
“All of us at the club were very sad to hear of Jean’s passing after many years of service to the Wise Old Owls and Sheffield Wednesday.
“The funds raised just highlight how well thought of Jean was in the community and we’re very honoured and grateful to be the recipients.
“We wish John and everyone at the Wise Old Owls the very best and hope to see you all in person soon!”
