Positive updates from the treatment room

12 March 2021

Darren Moore provided a positive injury update ahead of Sunday’s clash with Norwich.

Our pre-match press conference on Friday morning kicked off with a squad update and Moore revealed Keiren Westwood and Andre Green are back in training.

The weekend fixture may come too soon for the duo but their presence back at Middlewood Road with the group is a big plus for the squad.

Moore also believes that Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will soon join them back out on the grass, as the ex-Manchester City man has made good progress after picking up his injury away at Brentford.

The Wednesday boss said: “Green and Westwood are back in on the grass, it is pleasing to have them back and we’ll assess them each day as we go on.

“I don’t envisage them being ready for this weekend but they are back on the grass.

“We have got to make sure they are right from now until the end of the season.

“Fisayo will be back on the grass hopefully next week and Joost is back out there running.

“There is a little bit of light coming out of the medical room. When you see them back out on the training ground, you are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

“It must be nice for those individuals to be back out there and rubbing shoulders with their team mates.”

Massimo Luongo (thigh) and Moses Odubajo (hamstring) remain sidelined and Moore added:

“Luongo isn’t quite in training yet and Moses is still in the treatment room.

“He is making good progress but he is not on the grass at the moment, he's still receiving treatment.

“He is still a little time off yet. You can’t rush those hamstring injuries, but he is making good progress.

“I saw him this morning and he seemed in good spirits.”
