Match preview: Derby v Wednesday

7 May 2021

Days in football don’t come much bigger than Saturday.

As we approach the season finale at Pride Park, both Derby and Sheffield Wednesday are fighting for their lives in the Championship.

At least one of the two will be relegated this weekend but for the Owls, it’s a simple equation. Darren Moore’s side must win the game to stand a chance of a dramatic last day survival.

Should Wednesday achieve the victory we so desperately need, then the Rams will fall into League One.

Plenty also rides on Rotherham’s result at Cardiff with the Owls needing the Millers to drop points in the Welsh capital.

See more here on the combinations and permutations ahead of survival Saturday.

Whatever the outcome, it will be nail-biting, edge of the seats stuff to reach the conclusion of the 2020/21 season.
