SWFCCP team up with KickBack Recovery

21 May 2021

The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme have announced a new partnership with local charity KickBack Recovery Community CIO.

The Sheffield based non-profit organisation have been helping people in the local area kick their addictions for over four and a half years.

The charity provides a peer-led recovery support service for people recovering from drug and/or alcohol addictions in Sheffield, which includes group work, one-to-one support, along with diversionary activities such as trips, visits and social events.

The charity also works with young people to help build and develop their health, well-being and resilience.

KickBack Recovery will now be offering weekly free group therapy, with optional fitness training in between sessions.

These sessions will take place every Thursday at the SWFC Education Hub from 5.30pm for around three hours.

Support will be offered during these sessions to people struggling with addiction, dual diagnosis (co-existing mental health and substance misuse problems) and their affected family members, which will include educational work around the topics of addiction and recovery.

KickBack Recovery is a safe place to share experiences and concerns for those in need and anyone who requires support is encouraged to come along and get involved.
