Wednesday back Bluebell Wood

6 May 2021

Wednesday are supporting Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice ahead of this weekend’s season finale against Derby.

With fans unable to attend the fixture, supporters are encouraged by Bluebell Wood to donate the price of a ticket, pie or a pint to help the hospice continue their vital work.

The Owls have a longstanding relationship with Bluebell Wood, who support children in need of palliative care and their families, helping them to create valuable memories.

Supporters can donate to the charity HERE.

Samantha Wood, Head of Fundraising at Bluebell Wood, said: “Sheffield Wednesday and their brilliant fans have been fantastic supporters of Bluebell Wood over the years so we’re very much looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us.

“In ordinary times our dedicated volunteers would be on hand with collection buckets on match days, and we’re always blown away by the generosity of the fans.

“While this may not have been possible this season, we’re delighted to be partnering with the club to offer a virtual alternative."

This weekend also coincides with popular Bluebell Wood supporter Shay O’Grady walking to Pride Park as part of his charitable triathlon.

The 10-year-old Wednesdayite will walk to the home of Derby before cycling back to Hillsborough to raise money for the hospice that cares for his beloved cousin Evie-Mae.

Good luck, Shay!
