The Owls are back on the road this weekend facing Accrington Stanley at the Wham Stadium.

It’s back to the league programme after our midweek defeat in the FA Cup at Plymouth.

Darren Moore’s side are unbeaten in seven in League One but will be aiming for a return to winning ways after drawing five of our last six games.

Wednesday head into the game eighth in the table, two points outside of the top six with 26 points while Accrington are 14th, five points behind the Owls.

PRE-MATCH STATS

TEAM NEWS

Owls: Dennis Adeniran and Marvin Johnson are both sidelined with hamstring injuries.

Adeniran went down with injury in the first half of our FA Cup defeat at Plymouth in midweek, while Johnson sustained his injury last week in the 1-1 draw with Gillingham.

Lee Gregory (calf) is touch and go for the weekend, while Jack Hunt (fractured hand) may come back into contention.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell is back in League One contention after sitting on the bench at Home Park following his swift return from international duty.

Dominic Iorfa and Sam Hutchinson remain sidelined, while Josh Windass will be assessed ahead of a potential return.

The forward is yet to make an appearance in 2021/22 after suffering a hamstring injury in pre-season but continues to make good progress behind the scenes at Middlewood Road.

Accrington: Colby Bishop is suspended for the clash with Wednesday.

The striker, who has scored six times this season, serves the second of a three-match ban.

Midfield duo Matt Butcher and Joe Pritchard remain unavailable, while David Morgan (ankle) missed out last weekend as Stanley lost 4-1 at home to Plymouth.

Tickets for this weekend’s trip to Accrington have sold out for Wednesdayites and there are no tickets avaialble on the day of the game.
