Owls support #HerGameToo

22 November 2021

The Owls are pleased to announce a new partnership with #HerGameToo, which aims to raise awareness of, and combat, sexism in football.

We join a number of clubs from the EFL and beyond to commit to the cause, creating further awareness to the hurdles faced in football by females.

#HerGameToo was founded by passionate female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

The non-profit organisation aims to create awareness, educate, research, develop a strong sense of community and create strong relationships with clubs.

Further aims include creating strong relationships with club trusts and communities, having a presence at stadiums to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women as well as continuing to campaign against sexism in football and online abuse.

Victoria Wood from #HerGameToo said: “It’s brilliant to partner up with Sheffield Wednesday, as a lifelong Season Ticket holder myself.

“Her Game Too is a movement set up by female football fans with the aim to raise awareness of sexist abuse in football.

“We feel it is important to have the support and backing of professional clubs throughout the country, so we are delighted to be partnering with Sheffield Wednesday.”

Marcus Brameld, Community Manager at SWFC, added: “We are pleased to be partnering with Her Game Too.

“As a family club we want people of all ethnicities, genders and backgrounds to feel welcome and comfortable at Hillsborough.

“Our partnership with Her Game Too highlights our commitment to making football a game for everyone.”
