Lee Bullen was delighted for his Under-23s as they put in a scintillating display to beat Peterborough 5-1 at Hillsborough on Friday afternoon.

Korede Adedoyin scored four goals with Basile Zottos putting the icing on the cake for Wednesday, and the Under-23s boss was full of praise for his side.

Bullen said: “It was a great performance from all the lads, who’ve had a tough time of it lately.

“They stuck at it and everything just clicked. Everything you work on in training, the movement, the rotation, the understanding and the aggression, it just worked.

“The performance was more important than the result. Peterborough are a strong side with good individual players and they are not second in the league for nothing but they caught us on a good day.

“Those lads deserved it today as they’ve been through some tough times. A lot of things have gone against them and as individuals and as a group I am delighted for them.”

Adedoyin was the star of the show in S6 and Bullen was delighted with the striker’s performance.

He added: “I thought Cody was excellent and took his opportunities when they came.

“He proved a point today and that’s the Korede Adedoyin I know.

“It’s a great win and great to get the first three points of the season.”
