Owls loan round-up

20 September 2021

A host of Owls players featured for their loan clubs over the weekend and here’s a look at how they fared.

The most recent to leave Hillsborough on a temporary basis was goalkeeper Luke Jackson, who completed his loan move Guiseley last week.

The 19-year-old joined the Lions on a month-long loan deal and made his debut on Saturday as his side progressed in the FA Cup with a 1-0 second qualifying round win away at Colne FC.

Ryan Galvin was also in FA Cup action for his loan club Gloucester City on Sunday.

The Tigers came up against Longlevens in the second qualifying round and progressed courtesy of a 3-1 win with Galvin storing 90 minutes under the belt.

Striker Charles Hagan played 72 minutes of Hampton & Richmond Borough’s 3-0 win at Walton Casuals – again in the same round as Wednesday teammates Jackson and Galvin.

Meanwhile, Liam Waldock played 90 minutes for his loan club Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday as they overcame Stalybridge Celtic 1-0 in the Northern Premier League.

Alex Hunt made his sixth appearance of the campaign for Grimsby and helped his side to a 2-0 win over Eastleigh.

The Mariners have won five and drawn one game this season and sit third in the National League.

Finally, Cameron Dawson, who was named as Exeter’s Player of the Month for August, kept his sixth clean sheet in nine loan games for the Grecians.

Exeter overcame Sutton United 2-0 at St James Park to go up to fifth in League Two.
