The Owls Under-17s have reached the semi final stage of the Clarets Cup after defeating Wigan 4-0 at Thorncliffe on Tuesday.
Having made it through the group stages of the competition, our youngsters’ run in the cup continued in impressive fashion against the Latics.
The Clarets Cup is a competition founded by Burnley for Under-17 players, meaning only first year scholars and below can feature.
The competition begins with a group stage format, each consisting of five teams with the top two progressing to the knockouts. The venue for the final is Burnley’s Turf Moor.
Wednesday named three trialists in the starting line-up for the knockout fixture, with two of those grabbing the goals for the Owls - one hitting a hat-trick.
