Alex Mighten joins Owls on loan

The Owls have signed Alex Mighten on a season-long loan from Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Mighten, a rapid winger, rose through the ranks at the City Ground, impressing at all academy age groups.

The 20-year-old went on to make his senior debut for Forest from the bench in September 2019 at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

His first start came in the FA Cup the following January at Stamford Bridge when the Midlanders visited Chelsea.

Mighten penned a contract extension with Forest in August 2020, keeping him at the City Ground until the summer of 2025.

The exciting wideman has honours on the international stage having played for England at Under-15 level through to the Under-20s. He debuted for the Under-20s in September 2021 in a 6-1 win over Romania.

Mighten – who is also eligible to represent the USA as he was born in Connecticut - has posted 54 appearances for Forest to date.

The winger will wear squad number 45 for the Owls.
