Wednesday travel to Bradford for our first game in this season’s Papa John’s Trophy.

The Yorkshire outfits are joined in Group H by Burton and Leicester Under-21s.

Darren Moore’s side go into the midweek clash on the back on Saturday’s 5-0 win over Forest Green Rovers at Hillsborough.

The Bantams drew 0-0 with Crewe at the weekend and currently sit in 10th place in League Two following two wins, two draws and two defeats from their opening eight games.

TEAM NEWS

Wednesday: The Owls have no fresh injury concerns from the weekend.

New signing Alex Mighten is in contention to make his debut after joining the Owls on Monday.

Michael Smith remains on the comeback trail after making good progress in training.

Ben Heneghan will miss the next few weeks for Wednesday after suffering a hamstring strain and Akin Famewo remains the club’s only long-term absentee.

Bradford: Alex Gilliead missed Saturday’s draw with Crewe after picking up a knock.

Midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe is a long-term absentee for Mark Hughes’ side after suffering a double leg break on the opening day of the season.

PENALTIES

If tonight’s game ends in a draw, each side will earn one point and the tie will go to a penalty shootout with the winner gaining an additional point in the group stage.
