In a good place

Akin Famewo played 90 minutes for the Owls against Huddersfield ‘B’ on Tuesday afternoon in what he described as a ‘box ticked’ in his road to recovery.

The defender has stepped up his programme in recent weeks as he seeks a return to first team action after suffering an injury against MK Dons earlier this season.

After playing a full game against the young Terriers outfit, Famewo is looking forward to his full S6 return.

The 24-year-old said: “It’s a box ticked and I’m just happy to be back out playing again, dust off my legs and happy I’ve got a game under my belt.

“I’d done 45 minutes, then 75 minutes and now 90 minutes today, so hopefully that puts me in the clear.

“I can’t wait to get back involved now, obviously the boys have been excellent but I just want to be a part of it again. I really want to kick on and finish the season strong.

“It was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my career, I was so excited to sign for a massive club and start my journey here, but everything happens for a reason.

“I just take the positives and now I’ve got my body back in a much better condition then it was when I first came here. Now, thanks to the medical staff and everyone supporting me, I’m in a good place.”
