Derby v Wednesday

Saturday 3 December
League One
Pride Park

We make the trip to Derby for the early kick-off at Pride Park on Saturday.

It’s a meeting of two sides expected to be in the League One promotion mix come the end of the season.

For the Owls, our league form has been outstanding with just one defeat from our previous 10 outings.

Darren Moore’s side have cut the gap in third position to just one point off the automatic promotion spots and three from leaders Plymouth.

The Rams are on a positive run too, without a League One loss since late October in a tough trip to Ipswich.

In terms of league standings, Paul Warne’s side are eighth, one point away from the play-off spots.

Wednesday: Michael Ihiekwe and Lee Gregory look set to be sidelined at Pride Park after sustaining impact injuries last weekend.

George Byers is making good progress but will not be available for the Rams clash.

Akin Famewo (muscle) is rapidly closing in on a return to action. The defender has been out since our 1-0 win over MK Dons in August.

Josh Windass sat out last weekend’s cup clash with Mansfield and could come back into contention.

Derby: Defender James Chester (calf) will miss Saturday’s game.

Skipper Curtis Davies (knee), Haydon Roberts (hamstring) and ex-Owl Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (hamstring) are in contention after returning from injury.

Former Owl Joe Wildsmith will line up between the sticks for the Rams.

Referee: Dean Whitestone
Assistant referee 1: Daniel Leach
Assistant referee 2: Matthew Smith
Fourth official: Benjamin Speedie

Extended iFollow coverage of the Owls resumes on Saturday as we travel to Derby in League One.

Live streams of the Pride Park clash, which is sold out to visiting supporters, are on sale now HERE in the UK and overseas.

The increased availability is due to the Saturday afternoon closed window (UEFA Article 48) not applying during the World Cup in Qatar.

Following isolated anti-social behaviour incidents this season, we are reinforcing the importance of all supporters staying within EFL Ground Regulations, which can be found HERE.

Under the banner of ‘Love Football. Protect The Game’ the FA, Premier League and EFL have together introduced new measures and stronger sanctions across the game to tackle the increased anti-social and criminal behaviours recently seen within football grounds. Find out more HERE.
