Supporters raised over £9,000 for the Royal British Legion when bidding on our recent poppy shirt auction!
Wednesday’s match-worn jerseys from our FA Cup victory over Morecambe on Friday 4 November went up for auction following the tie, with all proceeds benefitting the Armed Forces charity.
Darren Moore’s side beat the Shrimps 2-0 at Hillsborough, with Josh Windass and Alex Mighten sending the Owls into round two of the competition.
A total of £9,229 was raised from the auction on matchwornshirt.com, with bids coming in from all over the world.
The Royal British Legion aid serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces and their families by offering support, guidance and rehabilitation.
Each year, the organisation leads the nation with their Poppy Appeal, as we remember the men and women of the British Armed Forces who have passed away in service of their country.
