Owls support Jude's appeal

23 February 2022

The family of Jude Mellon-Jameson, son of former Owls goalkeeper Arron Jameson, have set up a new fundraising page to aid the youngster’s battle against illness.

Three-year-old Jude is currently receiving treatment for neuroblastoma, after being diagnosed with the illness last year.

Jude has around seven months of treatment left, and even when successful, his family have been told there is a strong chance of relapse.

His family are campaigning to raise £350,000 for the youngster to receive treatment in the USA once his initial course is complete, with the aim being to eliminate the chance of his cancer returning.

Jude visited Hillsborough when the Owls faced Rotherham earlier this month, as a guest of matchball sponsors Wandisco, putting smiles on the faces of everyone he met including Wednesday skipper Barry Bannan.

Jude’s father Arron, who made his way through the Owls’ youth ranks before making his senior debut in November 2010, said: “As a family we would like to thank the club, the fans and the Sheffield Wednesday family for helping give our son the best chance.

“And for that, we will be thankful forever.

“I look forward to bringing Jude to matches in years to come, surrounded by those who ultimately helped him be here today.”
