U18 report: Hull 1-3 Owls

14 February 2022

The Owls Under-18s were back on track with a 3-1 victory over Hull City on Saturday morning.

The trip to Bishop Burton college saw the 18s return to winning ways in blustery conditions after back-to-back defeats against Blackburn and Sheffield United.

Bailey Cadamarteri fired Wednesday into a first half lead with a measured one-touch finish high into the net from Leo Davidson’s cutback.

The Tigers restored parity before half time as Alfie Taylor guided home his close range volley from a set piece but the Owls took control of the game in the second half.

Josh Ashman, who has proven an aerial threat for the academy this season, notched his second goal in five games, heading home with conviction at the back post from Davidson’s corner.

Murtadha Al-Jahadhmy wrapped up the points for the visitors in style ten minutes from time.

After receiving possession from Davidson, the midfielder steadied himself before rifling home into the bottom corner from 25 yards.

Owls: Charles, Ashman, Chapman, Flannery, Wassell (Fusire 46), Al-Jahadhmy, Maltby, Kilheeney, Holland (Maciag 87), Davidson (Shipston 80), Cadamateri
