Alex Hunt extends S6 stay

Alex Hunt has extended his Owls contract until the summer of 2023.

The academy product recently returned from Grimsby Town following a successful loan spell spanning the first half of the season.

The talented midfielder now puts pen to paper on a new deal at Hillsborough.

Hunt has risen through the Wednesday ranks having been with the academy since the age of seven.

He inked his first professional contract in February 2018 and took his bow in our Carabao Cup win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in August of the same year.

In March 2020, the boyhood Wednesdayite made his first appearance at Hillsborough against Premier League giants Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Hunt posted eight senior appearances during 2019/20 and switched to the Mariners on loan last summer.

He played 17 games for Grimsby and after returning to Hillsborough turned in a man of the match performance this week for the Under-23s as the Owls beat Coventry 4-2.
