The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme’s Fit Owls is back up and running for 2022 and supporters can join the initiative now!
The health programme is a fun and reliable way to get fit, with active sessions and tailored nutritional guidance to help you achieve your goals.
Fit Owls member Derek Wright, 63, has lost 31.5kg since joining the programme and is delighted with his progress.
Derek said: “It’s changed my life immensely.
“I’m a hell of a lot fitter, I’m going out and I’m more confident in myself.”
The free 12-week programme is funded by the EFL and offers the same quality of dietary and exercise information available to our players, with SWFCCP tailoring the programme to meet the local community’s health needs.
Rob Ward, SWFCCP Health Officer, said: “The 12-week sessions provide our participants with advice and support about nutrition, and they are shown an exercise plan that can help them for the rest of their life.”
With UK obesity rates rising and COVID-19 adding extra pressure to the NHS, our Fit Owls programme has never been more vital.
Rob added: “Derek is a great example of success with our programme, making realistic changes to his lifestyle to help work towards his goals.”
