Match details

Kassam Stadium

The Owls head south to Oxford on Saturday looking to build on last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Plymouth at Hillsborough.

Wednesday and Oxford last met in early October when a late U’s goal from James Henry inflicted our only defeat on home soil this season.

It’s close between the two sides in the League One table, as Oxford sit just outside the play-offs on goal difference while the Owls are in the eighth spot, albeit with a game in hand over the Yellows.

Karl Robinson’s side will be out for a positive response following back-to-back 2-0 defeats away at Lincoln and Wycombe, though prior to that, Oxford had lost just once in 12 league games.

Team news

Wednesday: Barry Bannan has shrugged off a minor injury that saw the skipper replaced in the final few moments of our victory over Plymouth last week.

Striker Florian Kamberi is nearing a return to action but manager Darren Moore hinted this weekend’s game could come too soon.

Josh Windass is fit and available for selection while new loan recruit Jordan Storey could make his debut.

Chey Dunkley and Olamide Shodipo are expected to be on the sidelines for a period of weeks with muscle injuries.

Oxford United: Midfielder Herbie Kane returns from suspension following his dismissal two weeks ago in the U’s 2-0 defeat to Lincoln.
