The Owls hit back from two straight defeats with a resounding home victory against Plymouth last Saturday.
This weekend’s challenge is on the road at Oxford and Sam Hutchinson has stressed the right foundations are in place for the Kassam Stadium clash.
He said: “You always need a response to losing games and our response against Plymouth was the right one.
“We are getting experienced players back and getting fitter, if you take the quality of these kind of players out of any team they will feel it.
“We were really pleased with the performance against Plymouth and on a personal note I got my one goal for the season!”
Hutchinson returned to the team after a spell in the injury bay and slotted seamlessly into the rearguard.
The aim now is to secure an extended period on the pitch, and preferably in his native position.
He explained: “Right now, I’m happy to be back playing and I will play wherever I am asked to play. I’ve always seen myself as a defender, I’ve only ever played in midfield for Sheffield Wednesday.
“Palms and Marv look really good either side of a three and I’m there for that experience in the middle.
“We all do a job for the team and the club. That’s what you have to do as a professional footballer and that’s the kind of squad we have.”
